It'a Give Away Time!

Since I've passed the 100 Follower milestone I want to celebrate with a give away. For the give away prize I bought a really cute vinyl tote, 1/3 yd. pink and browns bundle, Fall 2011 issue of Primitive Quilts, and a magnetic quilt bookmark at Quilter's General Store last week. I'm adding an assortment of 3 quilting rulers, an Orphan's of War pattern, and just for fun a Ziploc bag full of Civil War repro scraps left from making the quilts for my book, Love and Valor Quilts. It's about a $75 value altogether.

To enter, you must be a Follower and leave me a comment telling me what has been your favorite post so far. I'll choose the winner Friday night. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and read my quilting adventures and sometimes, misadventures!

Here's a picture of the prize. I can't wait to send it out to one of you!

Good luck! Keep stitching,
Becky

  1. Wow, Becky, that's quite a give-a-way, very nice. I would love to be the lucky one. I think my favorite post was when you met the Staffinger descendants. I love the story of the quilt, very interesting. I'll keep my fingers crossed..

  3. How cool, 100, congratulations. The one that comes to mind was your Mom poising for a picture next to a quilt. That is special. Otherwise I enjoy reading your blog. Keep it up.

My favorite posts would be the ones from August when you were in Maine.....I loved seeing you in your costume when speaking for the groups.....and you captured summer in Maine very nicely in all your pics! I'm always glad to hear visitors having a great time of it here in Maine!

  10. Dear Becky, thank you and congratulations on your wonderful blog. I am a new reader and follower and have loved your blog from the minute I first found it. My favorite is the August 22nd post from the Union show in Maine. It had everything! A good story, great quilts, great shopping and a glimpse of what it would be like to meet you. I too, get into costume, but I am 1854. Regards and best wishes, thanks for the laughs

  12. Sept.25, 2011 - Who Needs a Plan Anyway? Yup - that was the posting that convinced me that we were separated at birth. I don't do well with plans either. And the blocks you made that day gave me visual inspiration of what to do with some scrappy four patches I have long despaired of using up.

  13. Congratulations on reaching 100 followers! I read your blog as often as I can and I enjoy reading your adventures sitting at my computer in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. The post I like best is the one called Who Needs a Plan Anyway?! from september 25. Its a very funny story that I recognise very much! Planning one thing and doing something else that comes in front of you. But I also like your quiltblocks and the pictures of the civil war ladies. So this blog has just everything in it. It makes me smile.
Have a nice day! Happy quilting, Marina.

  15. I'm a follower and I agree with others about the trip to Maine. My favorite is the one with you in your costume and all the quilts, quilts, quilts! Another that comes to mind is when you went a day without water at your home. I don't think it included any photos, but it made me laugh. Love your sense of humor! Thanks for offering this wonderful giveaway!

  18. Ha! Well I'm *hoping* that THIS post will end up being my all-time favorite. LOL! But for now, I really enjoyed your "Where the Wind Blows" post. I love shopping trips like that -- and it sounded like you had such a fun time wandering hither and yon! Lovely giveaway -- thank you! :)

  20. What a great giveaway! I have so enjoyed reading your posts. I think one of my favs was when you showed the pictures of the talk you did at the Antique show (I think in Maine???) I love seeing all the old historic quilt patterns. I really enjoy your blog.

  21. Great giveaway! I am a follower - that's easy, but picking out my favorite post, not so easy! I love all the pictures you have - old quilts, old photos of people, old doll and trunk (so amazing), displays... too hard to pick just one! Thanks!!

  22. Wow, Becky what a great giveaway!! I love all your posts, but my absolute favorite is your last Friday's post with the orphan blocks!!! Such treasures. I couldn't pick a favorite!! 25. Congratulations on reaching the "century" mark of followers....I love Civil War quilts, and living near Gettysburg, PA, I try and absorb as much as I can..sometimes I think I was born in the wrong century! But in the hot summers, I do value my a/c..anyway, my favorite post was when the antique doll quilt had shattered fabric and you appliqued a red polka dot heart on top...that would be my way of covering up a boo-boo and it also would be the way our lady ancestors would have too...waste not, want not! 28. I like the post with the pictures of you giving a CW presentation to a guild. Lots of beautiful antique quilts on display and you in costume.

  29. Congrats on 100 followers, glad I am one of them. A favorite post is nearly impossible to pick. I so enjoy each and every post. I love seeing dolls quilts/tops, just something so precious about them. So, I especially like those posts, if I have to pick.

  30. I'm not surprised that you are already up to 100 followers. Such a nice blog, and such a generous giveaway!

  31. Congratulations Becky on the followers! I am happy and consider myself blessed to be one of them....Generous and fun giveaway....I would love to say throw my name in the hat, but then I would have to pick a favorite post which is virtually impossible to do (I'm a relatively new follower, but the ones that popped into my mind were the day without water; the presentation in Maine with you in costume and surrounded by gorgeous quilts; and, ahh..., my Jimmie posts....;o)) And not only do I not want to pick a favorite post, but, I am not much of a quilter and while I'm sure I would find a use for the fabric and such, your lovely package should go to someone who will put it to a much higher and better use. The last quilt I started has been stashed so long that even I have forgotten where...it is on my some day list - but I have to find a more conducive place to set up shop (can't be taking the sewing machine up and down every day to eat meals...)

So, thank you so much for the opportunity - and wishing all the quilters out there the best of luck!!

    Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

My favourite was the post with you in period costume explaining about bloomers!

  33. Thank you for the awesome giveaway. Being from Maine, I have to say that my favorite post was when you visited our lovely state and included all those lovely pictures. Fall is upon us and winter not too far behind; but Maine is a wonderful place in the summertime. Winter just gives me more time to quilt lol.

  35. I haven't been following for a long time, but I have had a good look around! I suppose the post I enjoyed seeing the most was you in costume giving a presentation in Freeport. It must have been very cumbersome to have to move around wearing several yards of fabric LOL.
Thanks for the chance to win your giveaway!!!

  39. My favorite blog was the one where you talked about washing and ironing your underwear in the hotel in Boston. It didn't have anything to do with quilting, but illustrated the perils of travel. However, it did show the resourcefulness of quilters. Way to go, Becky! Jane

  42. I just got here, it's Friday night and hope you haven't drawn yet. Don't have time to read your entire blog to know my fav post. I must say I live in Davenport, IA and saw you mentioned in our newspaper a couple of months ago. I must also say I see you live in Mt. Pleasant - home of some of my ancestors and relatives who were in the civil war. I also volunteer as host to the Henry Co, IAGenWeb site. I love history.

Anyway...glad I found your site. I'll be back when I have more time. I just became a follower to remind me!
